Natàlia Cugueró (Terrassa, 1972) holds a PhD in Management from IESE, an industrial engineer from UPC and a law degree from UOC. She is the founder of Getapartner, a business consultancy firm specialising in start-ups. She also teaches Economics and Business at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. She does research on management control systems and ethics. Likewise, she is currently on the executive committee of the Terrassa Chamber of Commerce, where she holds one of the vice-presidencies. Furthermore, she has previous experience in the field of Catalan building societies, in the organisation department of Caixa Terrassa and in the marketing department of Caixa Manresa.
We asked the CRO (Chief Revenue Officer) why she accepted this challenge, and she replied:
“My motivation to participate in this project since its inception is for several reasons. First of all, for the fact that I can influence the recruitment of the professional team and work directly with these people on the implementation and development of the product. Secondly, because onze is very focused on small and medium-sized companies, and on offering them innovative services in accounting, cash management and financing. In this sense, my experience with SMEs means that I can bring my real expertise to develop processes so that they are really effective, i.e. they really work.
Regarding the general motivations for the project, one of the main ones is that it is based on factual ethics. For example, parity is real, and not based on impositions or regulations, but by recognising that parity is something natural, that when it does not happen it is because female talent has not been sufficiently sought after. The organisational structure of the founders (UXI) is based on parity and the same structure of the bank, where there is the CRO (who defends the interests of customers) and the CEO (who defends the interests of shareholders), at the same level, and one is a woman and the other a man. In this sense, I have never seen this dual CEO structure, at the same level and with full parity, in a real way, and therefore I am particularly motivated by it.”
