The imposition of county power in the Catalan counties materialized throughout the 11th century, but not without encountering strong resistance from the lords of the frontier. This challenge of private power against public power has become known as the “feudal revolts”. But, beyond the political question, at the root of the conflict was the need to increase productivity and the indiscriminate capture of the farmer’s surplus to finance the feudal expansion southwards in the following century.

La història, jo en diria social-econòmica. és la que explica l’evolució de la societat. Temps era temps només estudiavem les dates de les guerres i els noms dels reis.
