The 18th century had apparently contradictory consequences for Catalonia. On the one hand, it is a time marked by the loss of political capacity caused by the defeat of 1714. And, on the other, it is marked by the beginning of the economic recovery that will end up turning Catalonia into a very economically dynamic area.
