Per a aix\u00f2 ser\u00e0 necessari crear oxigen a partir del di\u00f2xid de carboni present en l&#8217;aire del planeta vermell. Part del dispositiu que ho fa possible \u00e9s d&#8217;or.<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Per les seves propietats, <\/span><b>l&#8217;or ha tingut i continua tenint un paper fonamental en l&#8217;exploraci\u00f3 espacial<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I es pot aconseguir a partir del di\u00f2xid de carboni que constitueix la major part de l&#8217;aire marci\u00e0. Per aix\u00f2, el vehicle robotitzat Perseverance, que va arribar a Mart el febrer de 2021, incorpora <\/span><b>un instrument anomenat <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/mars2020\/spacecraft\/instruments\/moxie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>MOXIE<\/b><\/a><b> que produeix oxigen a partir del di\u00f2xid de carboni<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Com explica el Dr. Michael Hecht, investigador principal d&#8217;aquest projecte, <\/span><b>\u201cl&#8217;or \u00e9s fonamental per al funcionament de MOXIE\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que pesa 17 quilograms i t\u00e9 una grand\u00e0ria similar al d&#8217;una bateria de cotxe. La carcassa de MOXIE est\u00e0 feta d&#8217;or perqu\u00e8 aquest metall \u201c\u00e9s extraordin\u00e0riament estable, no s&#8217;oxida ni es corroeix amb facilitat i \u00e9s un excel\u00b7lent conductor de la calor\u201d, segons Hecht. Per aix\u00f2, <\/span><b>MOXIE no funciona molt sovint, nom\u00e9s una vegada al mes o cada dos mesos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MOXIE triga unes dues hores a estar operatiu perqu\u00e8 una de les peces necess\u00e0ries per al proc\u00e9s ha d&#8217;escalfar-se fins a assolir els 800 \u00b0C. Aix\u00f2 significa que el dispositiu hauria de produir entre 2.000 i 3.000 grams d&#8217;oxigen per hora, enfront dels 6-10 grams que produeix el MOXIE actual.
