What are the peles of La Plaça of 11Onze?

If you usually follow us, probably you are already registered at La Plaça, and you have surely seen that on the right side of the screen there is a counter that increases as you read articles and watch videos. You must already know that what you are adding up are Peles, but…. What are they? And what are they for?

The basis of everything is this social network called La Plaça, from which we want to organise ourselves communally so that all those who form part of it are empowered, informed and educated, especially about the economy and finance, but also about sustainability and culture.

What many people wonder, and some of you already know, is what do I get out of registering in La Plaça and navigating through all this sea of audiovisual material?

Why do I have to watch videos and read articles?

First because you get something out of it, since we try to make all the material we publish didactic, understandable and entertaining, like the animated series El Diner. The simple fact of learning something is already a personal enrichment, and this is achieved by visualising and reading at La Plaça, and furthermore, as our CEO Natàlia Cugueró says, this “is one of the ways of acquiring our virtual currency: by training yourself. We pay for people to get trained”.

And we pay by adding Peles, which is the virtual currency of 11Onze, in the virtual wallet, thus rewarding interaction and contribution to the community, either by commenting on the different contents or sharing them on other networks.

As a fintech that aims to make use of new technologies to operate, we follow the current economic trends of virtual currency, which have even led the European Central Bank to consider issuing virtual euros. And this is happening at a time when there is already a country like El Salvador that has begun to accept Bitcoin as legal tender, in an attempt to improve the country’s situation in relation to unemployment and the underground economy.

So, are Peles a cryptocurrency?

No, they are not, but as it seems that we are heading, as a society, towards the disappearance of physical money to which we are accustomed, the 11Onze community will not be left behind. It is for this reason that it has created a virtual currency that is the vehicle for interactions within the platform. In the future, these coins that fill the virtual wallet will be exchanged for products and services exclusive to the community. Therefore, all the effort in content generation and participation will be rewarded, and who knows if in the future, the usefulness of these Peles may extend beyond La Plaça.

11Onze makes available to its users the training courses that agents are giving to their colleagues. From cryptocurrencies and derivatives to macroeconomics: we learn as a community and train each other.

The 11Onze agents continue their training, and staff specialised in a certain subject share their knowledge with courses for the rest of their colleagues. This community training initiative began in June, and now 11Onze is opening it up to the users of La Plaça so that everyone can access this training in economic and financial matters.

If summer is a good time for training and learning new things, in the Learn section of 11Onze you will find 30-minute formation courses on very specific topics. We start with a first introductory chapter on cryptocurrencies with the agent Aitor Canudas. ETFs, invoice factoring, interest rate macroeconomics, asset classes or asset-backed loans, among others, will also be covered. The courses are taught by agents such as Marc Jara, Joan Benedicto, Nuria Rambla, Pilar Oltra, Albert Chic, David López, Sergi Colell, Jordi Sánchez, Jordi Oller, Amadeu Vilaginés and the aforementioned Aitor Canudas. Now, given their knowledge, they take on the role of trainers for their colleagues and the 11Onze community.

As always, people who watch the courses will be able to answer a questionnaire at the end to assess the knowledge they have acquired. And, depending on the result, they will earn Peles. A virtual currency, but one that will soon be very real for La Plaça users.

The contest sponsored by 11Onze awards the best young wines and the best wine tourism proposals

The Catalan wine sector has experienced an unmissable event this Friday, July 9, in the auditorium of Vilafranca del Penedès. The Vinari Awards, the most prestigious in the world of wine in Catalonia, have celebrated the summer gala, seeking the normalization of the sector despite anti-Covid precautions.

The event, organized by Vadevi and presented by Maria Almenar, has recognized the best young wines and the best wine tourism proposals and, therefore, has given very relevant information to consumers for summer season. A representation of the 11Onze team, led by the CEO, Natàlia Cugueró, was present at the event with the aim of supporting a key industry in our country for the economy, landscape and sustainability.

The Vinari have recognized a total of 64 wines, 4 of which have won the Vinari Gran Or award and will receive a distinctive label that will make them recognizable in stores. They are as follows:

  • Best young white wine: LaFou Els Amelers 2020, by LaFou Celler (DO Terra Alta)
  • Best young red wine: Black 2020 from the MontRubí winery (DO Penedès)
  • Best rosé wine: Masia Freyé Syrah Sumoll 2020, Vallformosa (DO Penedès)
  • Best young sparkling wine (up to 18 months old): Honor Cava Brut Ecològic 2019, Celler Jan Vidal (DO CAVA)

The gala, paired with the performance of the jazz group The Summer Lovers, brought together Catalan institutions around wine. In addition to Natàlia Cugueró, the mayoress of Rubí, Ana Maria Martínez, presented awards; the general director of the Catalan Institute of Vine and Wine, Alba Balcells; the Mayor of Vilafranca del Penedès, Pere Regull and the Minister for Climate Action, Food and the Rural Agenda, Teresa Jordà.

The best wine tourism proposals were also chosen at the Vinari:

  • Award for the best wine tourism accommodation: Hotel BUIL & GINÉ from the winery BUIL & GINÉ, Gratallops (DOQ Priorat)
  • Award for the best wine tourism project in the category of catering and pairing experience: Garden Restaurant El Celleret de Família Torres, Pacs del Penedès (DO Penedès)
  • Award for the best wine tourism visit and wine tasting experience: Celler Masia Serra, Cantallops (DO Empordà)

If you want to know the rest of the wines and wine tourism activities awarded at the Summer Wineries, you will find them at this link.

After the gala, the audience chatted with a mask outside the auditorium of Vilafranca. The general feeling was one of satisfaction, with the desire for the pandemic to allow the next awards to be handed out as normal. The next appointments for the 2021 Wine Awards are on September 13 at the Celler de Rubí and on October 8 with the big autumn gala in Vilafranca del Penedès. 11Onze will be present, next to the world of wine.

Ecotourism is the fastest-growing tourism sector in the world

This Friday, July 9, the Vinari Awards will acknowledge the best young wines and wine tourism proposals in the country. 11Onze will be present as the main sponsor.

The Vinari Awards, organised by vadevi.cat, award the best Catalan wines of the year since 2013. In this edition, the first Catalan fintech community, 11Onze, joins the project as a sponsor. The aim is to raise awareness of the quality of Catalan wines and to support a key industry in our country.

According to data from Prodeca, the wine industry has a turnover of €1,200 million per year in Catalonia, and its structure is made up of more than 600 bottling wineries, 8,359 winegrowers and an area of 42,822 hectares, registered as Catalan PDO. In terms of employment, the sector employs 25,900 people, including vineyards, wineries, and services. Exports in the past 2020 have reached €522.13 million, which represents 4.57% of Catalan exports. Catalonia is and has been a land of wines, and according to INCAVI, the Catalan Institute of Vine and Wine, wine has been part of our culture and tradition for over 2,300 years.

The summer gala of the awards will be held this Friday, July 9, 2021, at seven in the afternoon, in the Auditorium of Vilafranca del Penedès, with the presence of the general director of 11Onze, Natalia Cugueró.

In this ninth edition of the Vinari, in addition to the October gala, a summer gala is held announcing the winners of the awards for the best young wines. One of the reasons for doing this is that they are very suitable wines to consume at this time of year. The Wine Tourism Awards will also be awarded, in collaboration with the School of Wine Tourism of Catalonia. Awards will be given to the best young white wines, the best young red wines, the best rosé wines, and the best young sparkling wines. Prizes will also be awarded for the best wine tourism accommodation, the best restaurant projects and pairing experience, the best wine tourism visit and wine tasting experience, and the best wine tourism activity of the year. The awards will continue with a wine tasting competition, on Monday 13 September, at the Celler de Rubí, which will precede the Autumn Gala, on 8 October, which will be held again in Vilafranca del Penedès.

The Vinari Awards are a determining factor in prescribing Catalan wines, in the same way that the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles or the Parker Guide scores can be at an international level. The Vinari Awards are widely covered by the media and are broadcast live on Catalan public television. This year, a total of 852 different wines have been presented, which compete in the various categories through a blind tasting by a jury of 70 experts – oenologists and sommeliers – including foreign tasters.

Consumers associate Catalan wines with quality, proximity and identity. These characteristics combine perfectly with the idea of 11Onze, which is aimed, preferably, at these same consumers.

What are the CISI certificates? Why are they so prestigious? Why don’t all bank employees have them? We explain why 11Onze wanted its financial agents to obtain these demanding certifications.

Isa Custodio, Director of Human Resources at 11Onze, explains why they chose CISI to train their agents.

“The certification issued by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), based in London, is one of the most important and internationally recognised.

The certification we have requested from the agents corresponds to level I, which qualifies them to manage banking operations and inform clients about financial products. This is the right certification for professionals starting out in the banking sector, and it is internationally recognised, which means that our agents can work in any territory and with any banking licence.

We will also have agents with level II certification, which qualifies them to advise on financial products. Likewise, a certification with an international character.

The banking sector operates with different recruitment strategies in relation to certifications. In some cases, they opt to incorporate profiles without certification and in this way the agent and the bank jointly design a personalised career plan for each professional, adapting the different certifications to their profile. In other cases, more senior profiles are sought, who already have the information and advisory certifications, especially in the event that they have to manage teams directly”.

What is MiFID II?

The European Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) is a mandatory regulation for professionals and financial institutions advising or offering investment products to consumers. Obtaining this certification is just the starting point for entering the finance industry, and along with others, it is offered by academies specialised in training professionals in the sector. Today we will focus on one of the most prestigious, The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).

Validating beyond regulation

The global financial crisis of 2008, together with the banking corruption scandals, made it imperative to reinforce the degree of protection for users of investment products and services, increasing the levels of transparency towards clients, and establishing greater control over the entities that provide these investment services.

It is in this context, many financial institutions are not satisfied with simply complying with MiFID ll regulations imposed by the European Union, but go further in training their employees, to guarantee the integrity, ethics and quality of the services provided, and thus gain the trust of their clients.

Internationally recognised prestige

This training must be provided by an academy with recognised international prestige that validates the quality of its certifications, and The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) meets this requirement with honours. An entity that emerged from the London Stock Exchange in 1992, with branches in 123 countries and recognised by 40 national regulators.

A rewarded effort

The international recognition of this certification is largely due to the quantity and quality of the content included in the training, and especially on the difficulty of the exam. This is the reason why not all bank employees have this certificate: there are many hours of training and the tests are very demanding.

Jordi Sánchez, Head of 11Onze agents, explains his experience:

  • “It has been a very tough few weeks for us, and we have worked very hard. The content of the certificate is very complete, but you have to study every detail to apply it to the multiple-choice questions. The exam is complicated, as the multiple-choice questions are complex, and you have to think through the answers before giving the final answer. I think it is very worthwhile to have this qualification, it helps you to acquire financial knowledge in a personal and professional environment”.

Do you want to know how 11Onze will work? The first Catalan fintech community is getting ready to launch its financial operations. We explain the values that guide us.

You are already part of La Plaça, you already know the community. The next steps of 11Onze will come soon, and we want to explain what our pillars are. What will 11Onze be like?

Easy

There will be full transparency with the costs of the services provided, a single interest rate applied to any credit product. It is a model of transparency that does not exist in the market.

Simple

Being a fintech allows 24/7 access and combined AI and personal agent support. There will be multiple financing alternatives and a self-credit service based on the user’s credit history and credit rating. All assisted by CISI certified agents.

Useful

Online platform, La Plaça, for spreading economic and financial knowledge. The educational branch of 11Onze Aprendre is a firm commitment to training and citizen empowerment.

We have an online platform, La Plaça, to disseminate economic and financial knowledge. The educational branch of 11Onze Aprendre is a firm commitment to training and citizen empowerment. But La Plaça will grow with P2P financing alternatives and will offer an accounting service for SMEs in the cloud with tax settlement such as VAT and income tax. There will also be an automatic and proactive bridging finance service to mitigate negative cash flow effects and automatic assistance for family cash flow improvement, including proposing and managing the change of basic service provider. 11Onze is a banking model that is highly focused on creating savings and value for users.

Insurance

11Onze will be under the jurisdiction of the ECB, but outside Spain. We will double Basel III solvency criteria and use military-grade encrypted communications for security and privacy of transactions and exchanges. We will comply with the highest SEG standards and, apart from funds and assets, users will be able to use the vault service to store digital documents and assets in the bank.

Do you have more questions about 11Onze? The most common one is, of course, when it will start operating. 11Onze cannot yet make the exact date public, but it is working to make it happen as soon as possible, with all the guarantees for our customers. La Plaça users will be the first to know. For any other questions, you can consult the following articles or leave us a comment.
